Low intervention, bone-dry, medium body and light tannin aromatic orange wine made from 100% Avondale Estate Petite Milo grapes.
Winemaker's Notes:
The grapes for this wine were hand-picked and hand sorted from our estate vineyard. They were then 2/3 crushed and destemmed and 1/3 whole cluster fermented in contact with the skins, seeds, and stems. (The same process used to make a red wine applied to white grapes makes an orange, amber, or skin-contact wine.) After two weeks the wine was pressed and left to age in a neutral Canadian oak barrel, and a French oak demi-muid for 8 months. The wine was then bottled unfined and with minimal filtration to maximize the character and mouthfeel.
